    Cons

Management and the company as a whole

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Not every store is the same. A 1 or 2 million dollar store and a 500,000 dollar store can't be run the same way. The customers and the task loads are vastly different. Not enough payroll given for the amount of work that is demanded. Secret shops every month but not enough sales floor coverage to achieve company results. One person coverage majority of morning and evening shifts. When you don't achieve results you get written up very quickly. Good luck having a work/life balance. And the pay sucks.

I have been working at Gymboree full-time

    Pros

Great people, mostly manageable hours, exciting new upper management

    Cons

No clear employee development plan, underpays compared to other Bay Area retail companies, technologically kind of a dinosaur

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Invest in people and tech. Work on the company climate - most employees seem to feel like their job is just a stepping stone to something better at a higher profile company that pays more.
