Neutral Outlook
No opinion of CEO

I have been working at H E B part-time (Less than a year)

Pros

Good start off pay for someone without a degree, or someone working on a degree.

Cons

No notification of how many hours you will work from week to week. Overworked and underpaid.

Advice to Management

Decrease the overtime by hiring more stockers. There is a huge workload and it is a very tiring and very thankless job and we don't get paid overtime unless we work over 40 hours which sucks because pretty much every night I am working from 9 to 10 hours a night and everyone acts like its the norm. I signed up for 8 hours a night and possibly 9 sometimes but this is ridiculous when it doesn't even show on my paycheck practically and I am not thanked for helping with the added workload.

    I have been working at H E B part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The schedule is flexible and management encourages one to grow. Raises are every six months and also after being a veteran, you get a raise yearly based on your performance. As long as you are positive and helpful it is very easy to move up with this company.

    Cons

Generally when new people are hired, there is a dip in hours since they are sharing more hours with more Partner's.

  2. Strong Leadership and Friendly Culture

    Pros

Managers are usually very capable, kind, and understanding.

    Cons

When it comes to upper level management positions, the hiring process is very black and white. They favor graduates from the University of Texas and Texas A&M.
