Retail will always be retail....

Sales Advisor (Current Employee)

I have been working at H&M part-time for less than a year

Pros-Discount 25% (unlimited)
-Progression within the company
-Face paced environment where time goes quickly
-Plenty of overtime if you are hardworking
-Shift swaps are easy
-Time off and holidays are flexible
-Great clothes!
-Great bonuses for all staff in the shop! e.g 400 at christmas.
-Staff turnover is very low, everyone loves the company and have been with the company for years. (everyone in my shop has been with the company for over 2 years)

Cons-Training is vague
-Very strict on work performance
-Expected to dedicate yourself to H&M, in the way of knowledge and team spirit
-Till system is older than most retailers and is therefore harder to use
-Staff are bitchy like most retail environments, however if you work hard and don't get involve you will be fine
-Competitive visual positions and management positions
-Min wage until 3 month probation period

Advice to Senior ManagementManagement are pretty good, some have their favourites but thats just like anywhere.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company
