I have been working at H&M full-time for more than 5 years

Pros

Great pay for a retail chain
Great benefits
Amazing travel opportunities
Somewhat easy to move up in the company
Meeting amazing people from all over
Nice discount
"In the moment" coaching
Open door policy
EAP (Employee Assistance Program)

Cons

RUMORS (I'm talking, rumors that affect your position or your promotion)
Slight favoritism
Store level standards decreasing each year
Starting to get desperate in terms of hiring, quite a few people are extremely under qualified

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Store Level Management - Watch your favoritism to fellow managers/supervisors. Also, don't affect someones career negatively just because you don't like them, work and personal life should be kept apart when it comes to promoting someone

Upper Management - Be more available to the people that work in the stores and more helpful to solving problems that are continuously brought to attention by several people

**Stop promoting people just to "shut them up" about wanting a raise. It doesn't help ANYONE if the person is doing less work and having more responsibility**

I have been working at H&M part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Perks: Growing opportunities, & "appreciation" of employees by giving incentives.

    Cons

Favortism-- I knew a few people that I work with who get more opportunity & attention because they are favored over others ("only the great ones go far"), Managers always use the excuse of "I don't have time to teach you" when you want more skills, People seem fake & I'm not saying that there aren't a few good people because there is but it feels like high school there, I feel like no one really cares about me & that I'm just the person that works there.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your Sale Advisors, Stop the favortism, Stop being biased because others are like better.
