Look at DM pay... Sometimes the pay is not that great for the amount of work you put in.

    Pros

The best think about the experience was that I was able to work on a variety of problems. I was able to impact business decisions with my work. I enjoyed the new building and the physical environment. It is in the heart of the Kansas City Power and Light district

    Cons

Bad manager. My manager was way too critical of my emails that I sent out. Nit picked at the fact that I wrote one more sentence than I should have. I had another boss, however who was very good.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop eliminating jobs at the "low end of the totem pole". In our department, it was very "top-heavy" with directors (who didn't add as much value as the statisticians). Oh, but they controlled who got laid off. Hmmmmmm.

    Pros

It is a respectful workplace that also has a fun loving side to it.

    Cons

Very tough market with a lot more choice for consumers than 10 years ago. Seasonal staff can be a challenge to motivate and retain.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

While it took leadership change to react to the new state of the market, the company is going in the right direction to dominate what will inevitably be a smaller market.
