    Pros

Working with a company that actually cares about the people we serve and not just the bottom line. Great work environment and willing to listen to all levels of staff for advice.

    Cons

Long hours - medical field as always.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give a chance to hear those who do the job and not just the thought it is not working for someone.

Management needs communication skills and lacks leadership qualities.

I have been working at HCR ManorCare full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Working with the residents was the best part of the job. The CNA/Nursing staff was great too. Made a lot of friends.

    Cons

The further up the management food chain you went, the move cover ups you found. Overall staff unhappy and rude. In staff meetings, one staff member was continually sexually harassed. Residents were joked about and their dignity was striped. They would pick the residents who were their least favorite and find a way to knit-pick what they did. Treated them like little children. Watching ethical violations left and right got old. I had to send many family members to the state because problems were not dealt with internally.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Communication, Communication Communication... it goes a long way. Management needs help in this area. Take a class on how to lead. Leading doesn't mean cutting to the bare bone of staff and working them to death. Management should also take some classes in ethics.
