I have been working at HDL full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Very flexible schedules, great benefits (most are company paid), a very relaxed atmosphere, open communication even up to the higher-ups. The company is constantly growing and expanding, but make sure not to make employees feel like a number.

Cons

Being a fairly new company, a lot of practices are not in full swing yet. Procedures are constantly being updated, which makes it hard to keep up sometimes with what is new each week.

Advice to Management

None. Management here is what is normal at most companies. There is always a bad seed in the bunch, but that comes with hiring of different people.

I have been working at HDL full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great co-workers, good benefits for the most part, usually approves any PTO that you need as long as certain coverage is maintained. The type of work makes you feel like you are really helping to save lives.

    Cons

Four layoffs, 401k match taken away and no idea when it's coming back. Company being sold, so no idea if job retention is even possible for most of us without certifications or experience to apply elsewhere, which has everyone terrified. Because of all this, people are leaving left and right and more work is being placed on the workers who are choosing to stay hoping for a good outcome.

    Advice to Management

Talk to your employees more. A lot of us have families to support and need to be sure of what's happening. Town hall meetings are great but most people are afraid to ask what's on their minds. Tell us the truth, not a scripted story so that you don't look bad. In the end, more employees would appreciate you more and would be willing to stay if they could make plans for the future.

    I worked at HDL full-time

    Pros

The tests they run are good and have helped many people. When you work here, you feel like you are contributing to something important.

    Cons

The restructuring process and four rounds of layoffs has been horrific for everyone. The instability at the company is depressing.

    Advice to Management

Have more respect for employees. Urging people to stay with the company then laying them off is completely underhanded.
