    Pros

    fairly flexible work schedule
Other than that I cant really say anything nice about HMS Host, they are a large organization that bullies the little guy and will use foreign workers to replace you without losing any sleep

    Cons

    Brutal management
    Terrible EA programs
    No Training
    No room for advancement
    Little respect given to employees
    Absolutely no job security
You are better than this company, do not apply!!

I have been working at HMSHost part-time

    Pros

Fairly flexible schedule, if you're lucky you get a nice team to work with, extensive (almost overbearingly so) training.
    - Good for students who want to make some extra cash

    Cons

    - The wages. You will be getting minimum wage with maybe a 0.25 raise every year. If they forget to pay you for some of your hours, good luck getting that money back.
    - The schedules. Sure, you get flexible schedules, but too bad the assistant managers release your schedules two days before it actually starts. Pretty much leaves you no time to trade shifts/make changes when they accidentally forget that you can't be scheduled for a specific day.
    - Starbucks benefits? lol what benefits? The perks of working in a licensed store means they make their own rules
    - The rules. Every other week, the higher ups will send some email or another saying that the 'rules' have changed. It can be how you make a drink, or how something of your appearance must be restricted.
    - A penalty based approach to 'improving' the workplace: when you do things well, you won't get complimented. Instead, if you do something wrong, you get penalized. Or your entire store gets penalized.
    - As a sidenote to the above point, assistant managers and managers like to walk around waiting for you to make a mistake before writing you up. It's a really discouraging environment to work in
    - Assistant managers like to play favourites. It's really obvious, even though they'll deny it.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You guys need to rework how you try to control the work environment. Punishment is the opposite of positive and negative reinforcement. The more you punish workers, the less motivated they'll be to work. Especially when this comes without rewards for doing good work. There needs to be more explanation for doing things. Especially when it comes to imposing new rules which seemingly have no reason behind them.

    No opinion of CEO
