I worked at HOK full-time (more than 5 years)

Pros

Some unique and interesting projects if you are lucky enough to work on one of them. Design level is not what it used to be. Colleagues are friendly. International staff with varied backgrounds.

Cons

Layoffs are sporadic but when they happen, they appear to affect the staff who work the longer hours and those who have been their the longest.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to the staff and implement policy that benefits the whole company, not just the upper management. Stop taking away benefits that matter to people in order to make more profits. Happy people are better for the future of the company.

I worked at HOK full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Really interesting and complex projects. They have plenty of work and have been stable for the last few years.

    Cons

They can't manage their resources and have people doing the work of 2-3 people, then beat you up for your work not coming out perfect. They stress credentials and continuing education, but there's no time to do it.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Plan the resources before you take on the work.

I have been working at HOK full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

The company has a stong structure for the project, employee.
Even in a bad economy, they try to keep the employee as much as they could.

    Cons

Team shifting is hard to happen. So, if you have bad relationship with your senior, you have to move out to another company.
