I worked at HSBC Holdings full-time (more than 3 years)

Pros

Great vacation days, perks for working moms, supportive management, friendly work environment. Many internal training programs and supports for higher education. Pay is on par with the market rate.

Cons

Changes take a long time and many levels of approval to take effect. HR department is under-staffed thus will delegate most of the recruiting responsibilities to line managers.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Allow more avenues for process improvements.

Former Employee - Summer in London, England (UK)

I worked at HSBC Holdings as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

Big company. Nice people. They invest a decent amount of money and energy in training and professional development, though to limited effect in my opinion.

    Cons

There is a lot of bureaucracy around. Very hierarchical. There is little you can do if you happen to have a n unreasonable boss.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus on improving internal efficiency and thus profitability instead of expansion. Also please make your human resource department more professional.
