Former Employee - Senior Analyst in Vancouver, BC (Canada)

I worked at HSBC Holdings full-time (more than 5 years)

Pros

Opportunities to work in other countries (secondments) - also an opportunity to meet with people from other countries, diverse working team (mainly virtual), generous bonus scheme although the mechanism is a bit unclear.

Cons

Base salary is below the curve, multiple layoff rounds that span many months, detrimental and takes the sense of security out from the employees. Lots of late night and early morning meetings due to the geographical area of the team members.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

If cost cutting is needed, do it in as little rounds as possible

I have been working at HSBC Holdings full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

For fresh graduate, its a good company to start your career with.

    Cons

Tenure staff are not being appreciated enough. Something should be done in order to retain all this tenure staff since they understand the business and where it will be heading to.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Still too much bureaucracy and favoritism going around. Something that the Sr mgmt should look into.
