I have been working at HSBC Holdings full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Lots of good people in the lower ranks.

    Cons

Thick layer of middle management playing politics and stifling progress. Antiquated IT. Disjointed business processes and blurred lines of responsiblity. Poor talent management. Backstabbing culture.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Cut the middle layer. Get an IT stategy (other than reducing print cost which is the only message we ever hear from IT management in the investment bank).
