Pros

Good training opportunities and compensation for the role I perform, and a good spirit within the company. Well positioned to come out of the financial crisis strongly.

Cons

Working for a large company can make it difficult to completely understand the 'big picture' and what's going on, but this is simply part of the package of working for a multinational .

Advice to Management

Keep doing what you're doing, the leadership in the last decade has been above par in this industry.

    Pros

Employees will have exposure to international opportunities, either through secondment or working with staff from other countries.
IT department is well established that employees will be able to learn about standards, best practices as well as how a bank run.
Usually IT professionals such as developers, BAs and PMs will be working on projects from all sizes ranging from under a million to over 20 millions.

    Cons

As the organization is large, the opportunities for promotion within one country bank or Software Department is limited as staff then to stay in a position for a long time.
Also, due to the complex working environment, there are a lot of procedures to follow for making even a small change.

    Advice to Management

Provide more opportunities for employees to develop their career path in the company. For example, experienced developers who is at a plateau on their career path can look into new roles such as solution architecture aspect, etc.

    Pros

The company offers great benefits. The work environment was respectful and nearly as high-strung as I imagine other banks are.

    Cons

Upward advancement was quick at first, but many employees seemed to hit a ceiling after a certain number of years.

    Advice to Management

Get to know employees on a more individual level.
