Make sure you're left hand knows what your right hand is doing.

I have been working at HSN full-time for more than 8 years

ProsUpper management does care IF the issue can get up to them.

ConsPay is not an incentive to work here. So, with that in mind, the Work/Life balance was the main draw to our department. As of late, Work/life balance has withered. The flexibility is fully expected for business needs, but no longer allowed for personal, only medically approved situations in a specialty department. We are expected to use PTO for any other reason where we were able to just flex our schedules, for instance, to go to the bank to sign papers and just come back and stay later. We now are expected to use PTO for those things instead of giving hsn a full 40 hour week. FMLA is being abused by some. They only work their WAH days and burden the rest of the team with having to stay on top of their workload. Our specialized department can't take those who consistently don't show up for work. We also can work more hours if allowed to Flex to meet personal needs. We both lose, the company loses productive work time and we lose our PTO. Let's try to refocus here.

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep an eye on all of your teams. Just because your direct reports tell you that THEIR direct reports have all agreed to new policy or seem content, do some checking to be certain. When you lose your ability to be effective, you will lose the faith of your reports. Something is growing and it's not harmony.
