Former Employee - Software Quality Specialist in Chicago, IL

I worked at Haemonetics full-time (more than 5 years)

Pros

I worked for a small, privately-held software company acquired by Haemonetics in 2007 as part of their expanded market strategy. Salaries remained the same or increased, 401(k) had generous 6% match with immediate vesting, great insurance coverage. Work was well-supported by management.

Cons

Too frequent changes in short-term business strategy and middle / senior leadership made it difficult to work towards long-term goals. Felt a bit like "country cousins" as part of a former acquisition.

Former Employee - Engineering and Bus Dev in Braintree, MA

I worked at Haemonetics full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

    Can change peoples lives, health-wise
    Can develop great technology
    Some tremendously good peers
Some excellent senior managers, but they did not stay long

    Cons

Use to have black Fridays where peers disappeared (let go), seemingly not always performance
Project too frequently got killed, wasting years of your life and passion
A few really bad and immature senior executives

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The asst to the president program (newly minted MBA) that ultimately took most senior positions, created only and extension of some of the bad behavior. Pretty much slowed innovation, as if only one or two are contributing or deciding, hard to compete with collaborative companies that are building become stale quickly.

Ultimately West Coast investor took board control and cleaned up a lot.
