Pros

There are very dedicated employees here that will treat you like family. I had great bosses that were incredible mentors and wanted to see their people be successful.

Cons

This company has been through some major merger and acquisitions over the years and the branches/ divisions can seem fragmented. There are too many metrics in place that you do not necessarily havecontrol over, but, you can normally stay out of the hot seat if you explain to your boss.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep on going through growing pains of change and stay focused on yearly sales rather than day-to-day/month-to-month sales.

    Pros

    Hagemeyer North America has a lot of good people, people that have been there a long time, people that are serious about what they do and people that enjoy working together. When business is good, the field is left alone to do their own job and run their business, but when things change, like business slowing, the corporate staff gets involved and trys to run the show. In normal times the field is left alone, but now that business has changed so ahs the management style. There is a lot od info that comes from corporate that is helpful to running your business, that is ggod.

    Cons

    Senior management does not understand the business, thinks all distribution is the same. Most the coprorate team comes from another industry, not all, but most, the few that have been there are out numbered. There are too many layers in corporate, too many people to report through in the sales chain that are unnecessary. Corporate puts out too many reports and seems to run the business by the numbers, these reports take too much time and keep the regional and field people in the building and not out hunting business. Seems to have turned into a popularity contest, if you are liked, things are good, if you are not, things are not.

    Listen and trust the field, they know what is going on in their market.

    Pros

    Corporate HQ located in Charleston. Pay and benefits are average.

    Cons

    The most unethical place I have ever worked. Good old boy network is rampant.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Act like leaders. Focus on the business rather than destroying individuals (which I have seen them do over and over)
