Pros

Hmm... Pros? They find some nice people. Lots of mindless busy work to zone out to. Pay is OK, but no advancement unless you're cherry picked, which is almost never.

Cons

Frequent and random layoffs of good people, way too many systems, no order, lots of propaganda and self back-patting. Very little recognition for a good job, little enforcement on regs because the are too many misplaced and made up rules. Imagined self importance. Like a buzzword poster will change the amount of accidents. Always trying to hide illegal things behind carefully crafted words to make it not look so bad. Tightwad budget for things like necessary travel. No transparency. Extreme turnover. No inspiration for education. Bosses will block your movement to another dept. even when they're not supposed to.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Institute one master system to organize personnel and documents. Not 100+ systems for days entry. Can't find anything. Also, allow telecommutes!! Keep up with today if you want to keep your peons. Look to companies outside oil for inspiration. Treat your managers with RESPECT instead of bullying them and expecting 24/7 unpaid service. Too many overpaid VPs. Quit auto deleting everyone's emails like a massive paper shredder...Dumbest system ever...unless you're a lawyer. Quit basing the raise of the individual on the department as a whole. Success should be celebrated, not rubber stamped.

I have been working at Halliburton for more than 3 years

    Pros

Good people to work with in the field. Decent accommodations. I was hired out school. Good place to start off at and learn the business. Halliburton has good safety expectations. If you like to travel, there are plenty off opportunities.

    Cons

Bad communication, Hard to get promotion, bad management. If you know somebody, you can move up fast, if not you're stuck Very short staffed. Bad training.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If you know a job is coming up, don't wait until the last minute to notify employees. There needs to be better communication as a whole. If you want to keep your employees, keep up with the competition's salary and day rate.
