Lots of retail work for horrible pay and not a lot of hours, maybe 10hrs. per week for 4 stores.

I worked at Hallmark full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Great support within district from other store managers.

    Cons

Upper management, DM's, RM's and mostly every department in Hallmark are hypocritical, incompetent in every way and the most unorganized, unrealistic retail company I have ever worked for. Not one department out in corporate, gets anything right. The products are completely back in the 80's....textbands...really...when most kids have i-phones! Hallmark quality has completely gone down hill but their prices of course keep going up. The upper management is absolutely delusional...let's not get holiday storage but you need to find a way to store all promotional items, Christmas wrap, boxed cards, counter cards in a backroom housing sale product that keeps accumulating with no exit strategy all within a shoebox of a backroom, oh and you will only be getting 5 extra hours of payroll to open 40 boxes a day!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Actually be in the stores!!! Learn how the register works, learn how the shipment works, learn how to actually run a store, it's not like Williams-Sonoma, Gap, Bath and Body Works. Running stores from a computer does not work and is not productive. Be willing to change what is not working, because Hallmark is not working!!!
