Hancock Fabrics – “Some employees were negative to work with but overall I enjoyed the job.

Hancock Fabrics Cutter and Cashier in San Marcos, TX:   (Past Employee - 2007)

Pros

I enjoyed working in a place where shoppers had the same interests and hobbies as myself. I also got a discount on all fabrics. I liked being able to assist customers with color choices, or what options might be best for their current project. It felt good to work somewhere that I was knowledgeable about the products.

Cons

There are a lot of hours on your feet. Some of the customers could be quite rude if you couldn't cut their fabric fast enough or the lines backed up. I also found that the work was not distributed very well. There was either non one at the cash register or not enough people cutting fabric. Some of the managers were difficult to work with and very negative.

Advice to Senior Management

There needs to be a lot of work done on employee morale. Most of the people I worked with were very negative and it was obvious to the customers.
