Overall, I'm neutral. I like the people I'm working with but the leadership sends mixed signals.

I have been working at Hanger

Pros

Great opportunities to learn and gain clinical skills
Many opportunities to manage a practice but you'll have to move.

Cons

Lots of big talk, little action. Management has a traditional corporate mindset.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Many in management, including the CEO have open to talk to. You get a sense they are listening yet there seems to be no structured way for people to advance. Everyone seems so competitive against each other (middle management within the company) they overlook the big picture. Talk about team but use "I" and "my" a lot.

    I worked at Hanger

    Pros

People in the Hanger P&O offices are great to work with. Very caring, understanding and honest. Seeing the end results of providing care to patients is extremely rewarding.

    Cons

The move of HQ from Maryland to Texas caused significant turmoil in the business. The loss of 70% of HQ staff resulted in a loss of the company culture. It will take a few years for a new culture to emerge. In the mean time, relationships are difficult and the field support has suffered.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Ensure all department goals are aligned with the goals of the business.
