I have been working at Hanger full-time for more than a year

Pros

company mission
team of people
lot of Interesting projects
professional office space with great location and new cube design
cio is also app director

Cons

if the company could change in 4 areas it would be improved
health benefits could be better for a company r size so could 401k matching
no tuition reimbursement or payment for technical certifications
not enough funding of IT to put in systems the company needs
IT managers - cio is the most approachable visible friendly and honest executives i have met. i have never seen a cio talking to people directly on a daily basis before and many of us find it fun and refreshing. but the downside in IT is it has a few managers are unhappy and are bad influences on people. they are deliberately trying to undermine the other leaders. this group is actively getting others to go to this site to post negative things about IT and the leaders. a couple of the group were let go a manager and pm but 2 managers and other need to be let go too. not a surprise who everyone knows who they are.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

advice to the ceo. you hold employee meetings to voice r opinions and comments, but do nothing with the information. developmental opportunities such as tuition reimbursement and technical certifications reimbursement and increases in IT investment have been discussed in all of those meetings. what have you done to address?

I have been working at Hanger full-time for less than a year

    Pros

easy work environment, people (directors, management) leave you alone (just recently though), great coworkers

    Cons

no room for advancement, benefits such as health benefits cost 2x a company their size...family benefits cost between $300-$350 per pay period. ridiculous. some managers and directs need to understand that their role is to manage and understand people...c'mon common sense here. "got your workers back" "do what I can..." ok...and I just won the Publisher Clearing House prize.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

certain people need more training. your workers can do a better job than you and can do it more efficiently. maybe read a book on being a great upper management for dummies. maybe the company should begin replacing certain directs/managers and see how morale increases. only way to find out is to move certain people to a different "made up" position and bring in better talent to lead.
