I worked at Harbor Freight Tools

Pros

Under previous management there was team work, growth opportunities, respect, open door policy, fast paces with challeging rewarding work. Recognized for hard work and loyalty.

Cons

Under new mangement there was unprofessional work environment, disrespect shown to employees, stressful work environment that was not rewarded or recognized.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need to re-evaluate the approach of treating employees similar to the previous management. In that environment you can still achieve new management thinking and excelling in new areas without sacraficing respect, loyality and hard work.

An okay place to work, but a very unorganized company.

I worked at Harbor Freight Tools

    Pros

HFT pays pretty good for a retail job. The products they sale are interesting and fun. If you like tools, you can get pretty good deals. They give you pretty generous amounts of Paid Time Off and they have decent benefits.

    Cons

They send out way too many coupons that makes the customers very confused. They are disorganized in many areas of the management. They are always understaffed and that causes everyone stress. They hire managers with no tool knowledge. The pressure they put on you to sell extended warranties and memberships is over the top.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get your marketing team together. Give your stores more hours to schedule enough people. Update your computer software so its easier to search names of items. In fact, update your whole computer system.
