I have been working at Harris as a contractor (more than a year)

Pros

Not allowed to work overtime

Cons

I was hired as a contractor for Harris. During that period, no expectations given. No feedback provided (even when asked) until it was too late to correct. Refusal to discuss issues. Employees are treated without respect. All suggestions, ideas, etc. fell on deaf ears. Certain individuals are very condescending and patronizing and just straight up A$$e$ and management could care less because the job is getting done. Worst place I have ever worked. Rumors about Harris treating their personnel badly is NO RUMOR. This is not just one mans opinion. I have experienced it first hand....against being forewarned. Exit interview not afforded to contractors so this will continue forever. Job seekers...just keep looking elsewhere. Incredible attrition rate. If "bridges" weren't so important, they would all be burning.

I worked at Harris full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Access to technology in satellite communications industry

    Cons

All leadership and decisions must be made in DC or UK
Morale at historic low and everyone uncertain about their future after several rounds of role eliminations. General sense is that no intelligent life resides outside of DC or UK and no examples of career trajectories into broader HRS organization

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The customer community is watching and openly critical of the adverse impact on service. The competition is perched and ready to exploit every fracture and fissure and pick up the fodder. A sincere desire to understand perception and vigilant eye is absolutely paramount to prevent further erosion and flight.
