Pros

Company management is laser focused on overcoming sequestration impact and executing on its plan to drive growth going forward. New CEO has strong background in this area. Provides an exciting opportunity to be part of a culture change.

Cons

Requires being flexible and able to deal with a changing environment. Better than the alternative of letting government budgets control the company's future.

    I worked at Harris full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    on-site cafeteria, flexible schedule (as long as HR doesn't know or recognize it), can get a decent starting salary but don't count on raises, minor profit sharing

    Cons

    no upward mobility unless you have friends in high places - doesn't depend on experience or skill, terrible raises - 1.5% if you are lucky, no chance to voice opinion if you want to keep your job, management doesn't listen to experienced personnel, company has local reputation of laying off hundreds of employees to increase their bottom line

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    fire all upper managers and start over - hire new people with a modern take on business, listen to your employees and don't punish them for having their own opinions

    Pros

    Great learning experience - opportunity to work at a Corporate Headquarters
    Opportunity to recruit a variety of positions
    Loved the People all of my co-workers were awesome and great to work with

    Cons

    Was not particularly easy to get things accomplished at CHQ - Perhaps it was because of the change at the C-Suite Level and the impending changes.
    Self-Imposed hierarchy could be cumbersome to navigate through in a timely manner.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Let employees own their jobs - make decisions and lean forward, stretch themselves to prepare for the next assignment
