I have been working at Harris full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

The project I've been on for 3 years has a great work life balance. It is low stress and I am not micromanaged. I have enjoyed being able to code with different languages and frameworks. The 9/80 work schedule has definitely kept me from leaving the company despite several other offers. The benefits are real good. 401k, vacation time, sick time.

Cons

The raises are about 1.3% and a small amount of people seem to underperform.

Advice to Management

Keep the 9/80. Give us better raises. Flatten the management structure.

    Pros

    Can't really think of any real perks to the job, other than being able to creatively restructure work and customer solutions in a flexible manner. Change acceptable throughout organization.

    Cons

    Very unorganized, especially the Finance and Accounting groups. Chaotic most of the time. Highly political culture. All about who you know there. Hired people right prior to merge with parent company, then lay everyone off 8-10 months later. Indicative of lack of vision by senior management. They also never finish a major internal project successfully. Middle managers support homogeneous thinking and lack the ability to affect/promote real change and improvement.

    Advice to Management

    Tighten-up middle management. Keep corporate out of local affairs.
