Harris Teeter – “Wish it was just a nightmare!!”
Pros
Slightly higher starting pay, some extra from profit sharing (though usually just a few hundred twice a year), 401k i guess, health & dental I suppose
Cons
raises are nothing to excited about........usually less than 50 cents per year; profit sharing isn't much better (i'd rather just get paid more); we almost never have enough people in the deli, and if somebody calls out, it's rare for us to call someone else in;you try to make a suggestion to upper store management and they pretty much treat you like dirt, trying to give your two cents? don't bother cause they don't want to hear it. I've lost count of how many anxiety attacks I've had since I started working for Harris Teeter, and it's only been about 3 years. I'm afraid to leave my house on my day off, and have changed the ring on my cell for when ht calls to silent.
Advice to Senior Management
your customers are the ones below you on the corporate ladder.........I'm on the first step, so what I have to take care are the ones holding the ladder (customers), I believe that the best way to lead is by serving, but all I see is a big CEO with a whip. Everyday I wish I could quit. If I quit then I won't have a job. If I don't have a job, then I won't have money. If I don't have money, then I can't pay my bills. I don't even know if I have friends anymore. This is my work. This is my nightmare. Somebody kill me please!

**Didn't you find Harris Teeter's version of One Republic's "Apologize" hilarious. Just think of all that money Harris Teeter had to shell out to pay the copy right fees.
