Pros

High profile, high standards, high expectations. Great for resume. Opportunities to learn and grow if you take them - really a place where the job is what you make it. Can be a lot of fun if you really like working in this business. If you are good you will do well - if you're mediocre you will be ignored.

Cons

Tough hours. Not for the thin skinned. Many people work hard but some hourly and manager types both just sit sit around and complain but don't do anything (and get away with it.)

Advice to Management

More employee development. More involvement with all the managers.

    Pros

Harry Carays does allow for management to have one free meal each day; thats about it. They also pay 80% of our health insurance

    Cons

Upper management is almost non existent except when a camera or celebrity is around. Not supportive or respectful of staff. Hours are long and unnecessary. Attempting to improve procedure and systems is like pounding a brick wall. Extremely high turnover is proof, this is not a place to make your career.

    Advice to Management

Be more approachable, listen to your staff - ask for feedback and do not mandate unnecessarily long work days. Treat everyone from the delivery receiver to the director of operations with the same amount of respect. The restaurant is not an entertainment center for your friends, it should be a money making operation.
