Pros

You can get experience here if you try hard and do alot.

Cons

You will soon have 4 jobs and get paid for 1. They call that growth. They brag about their high turnover, does that even make sense? You wont move up here. They do not encourage internal applicants. They dont care about their employees. Their managers are cowards and do not have your back.
Full of classist, sexist, egomaniacs.
There is not one sane person here
You dont get trained
They lie to you to get their way.

I worked at Hart Energy Publishing LLLP full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Flexibility in work schedule if you discuss your personal situation with your manager; nice office building with many good lunch options in walking distance.

    Cons

Unprofessional behavior among managers and employees is the norm; lack of corporate culture and core values - it actually seems like the dirtier you play the more rewards you get; greedy upper management doesn't want to share a piece of the pie with regular employees who make the company successful; lack of incentive to perform well; expected to work overtime without overtime pay; below average salaries.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Learn how to manage a company or step aside; recognize the talent of your employees or they will leave as soon as they get the opportunity.

Very good at publishing, but needs a lot of improvement on the consulting side

I have been working at Hart Energy Publishing LLLP

    Pros

Autonomy in determining what kinds of issues to focus on, what data sources to use.
Serious understaffing--a challenge to be dealt with, but, for motivated people, an opportunity to broaden their areas of expertise.

    Cons

Top management does not understand energy consulting business--both from a service pricing standpoint and a technical expertise standpoint.
Lack of upward mobility: the people in charge are in over their heads, have limited prospects to move elsewhere--and they know it.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire someone to run consulting that has extensive, substantive experience--both in producing quality content and properly assessing and pricing consulting proposals.
