Harte-Hanks – “Pros and cons from the trenches.”

Pros

I have found Harte-Hanks to be very much a place that is what you make of it. Smart, hard-working individuals can go far at this company. For me, opportunities for growth (learning new tools/skills) have been significant. Many of the client relationships are very long-standing and can be rewarding.

My boss is great and while folks work hard, there is also significant flexibility on work/life balance matters.

Cons

Rumors of a slow-moving, behind-the-times organization are not entirely unfounded. While improved, integration across different parts of the business has a long way to go. Management has been loathe to invest in new, game-changing technologies. Turnover (attrition and otherwise) has been significant and has impacted morale.

Advice to Senior Management

Senior management seems very reactive. It would be nice to see a more forward-thinking approach to the business (or if it exists, to have this vision communicated more effectively in the organization).
