I worked at Harte Hanks as a contractor for less than a year

    Pros

Worked for almost a year. Horrible benefits, management, etc. The only pro is sometimes they leave the doors unlocked and you can escape!

    Cons

Low pay, bad benefits, absent management. You name it, harte hanks has it. I'd avoid this place like the plague if I were you

I worked at Harte Hanks full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Worked with some truly bright talented people, good salary

    Cons

The upper management is the worst and the middle layer is not much better. Most of the smart, talented, people-oriented, forward thinking employees that I knew have left or been laid off since 2008. What's left is not the cream of the crop. Culture is very negative and did not improve when the President, Gary Skidmore, was let go last summer as many of us had hoped.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Shed the upper layer of stuck in the mud, doing it the same old way management - look down in the middle layers at what's left of your talent, hire fresh from the outside and really learn to think out of the box.
