    Pros

Good for personal edification and inspiring conversations. Personal growth can be significant and people are professional. In terms of training, it really depends on the lab you join and its mentality/approach toward training at different stages of the academic career.

    Cons

Competition can be intense. Stress levels high (mostly self-imposed; that's the kind of people HMS attracts).

    Advice to Management

Look out for emotional health of employees, since many HMS folks are stressed but appear not to be.
