Current Employee - Writer/Designer in Wellesley, MA

I have been working at Harvard Pilgrim

    Pros

Flex time; ability to take days off without much notice; low-pressure atmosphere. Very friendly people. For the most part, managers do not act "above" other employees.

    Cons

Not enough pressure put on unproductive employees to work productively; unwillingness to fire or to warn bad employees; too lax with dress codes; too easy for some less-than-competent employees to rise into management.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make lower level managers more respectful of employees and their needs to feel a part of the company. Large departments are not always aware of subdivisions or small departments that feel ignored, left out.

    Approves of CEO
