Pros

The quality of the people you meet is second to none, and the resources that are available to pursue a PhD in the sciences is also second to none.

Cons

As with any PhD, the salary is too low. Too many cookies, not enough beer.

    Pros

    Everything built by you in house means you gain many engineering skills

    Cons

    The lab is severely mismanaged. The day to day activity is micromanaged. Work goes unpublished. No conference travel.
