Former Employee - Director in Pawtucket, RI
Former Employee - Director in Pawtucket, RI

I worked at Hasbro full-time (more than 10 years)

Pros

Salary and benefits were great. People that I worked with were passionate and hard working. New management is working hard to streamline, but that causes layoffs and cutbacks.

Cons

Industry is mature and shrinking. Several of the larger toy companies are all fighting in the same market. Be prepared for continued layoffs. In my area it was expected that the days were long and many times work would interupt family plans, vacations and weekends.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Although you answer to Wall Street, isnt there something more? Like providing jobs for thousands of employees in a very hign unemployment state?

I have been working at Hasbro full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

    - Discounts on Hasbo toys
    - On site store for employees
    - Time off for vounteer work

    Cons

My supervisor was an aggressive bully who was allowed to yell, throw temper tantrums and on her good days, complain about co-workers. Although I made her behavior know to Human Resources, there was no action to reprimand her in any way. This is not an employee-friendly environment with respect for it's workers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus as much on work culture as profits.

I worked at Hasbro as an intern (less than a year)

    Pros

In general it was a great experience, I learned alot about the in's and out's of working in such a large company. The half day Fridays all year long are a definite plus!

    Cons

Much of the employees are contract or freelance workers within the creative services department. The employees are very undervalued and unhappy workers.
