I worked at Haver Analytics
Pros – Very flexible hours for when taking classes. Flat out, this position is more of an 'internship' then anything else. You work will not be exciting, and very repetitive. However, the avg person in this position is a grad student who needs flexible hours to attend classes and study for exams.
The pay really isn't that bad either, considering it is 'part-time'. Also, raises are given every 3months for the first year, each one being about 8-12%. Starting pay is very low, but within a year u are up to par. By then, however, u are ready to move on as u are probably done with grad school and seeking a REAL job.
If you take this for what it is: EASY paycheck while in school, then ur golden.
Otherwise, move on quickly.
Cons – Learning OLD technology all over again is crazy. This position is extremely repetitive, which is somewhat to be expected, but can take a toll on ur desire to continue work. It is somewhat baffling how this company keeps employees during economic booms when soo many others are hiring. If given a choice, I would almost always recommend any other company over Haver...EXCEPT in regards to the flexible hours.
No potential to move up. Only person i've seen move up from Analyst to manager got taken advantage of and quit shortly after. The hours req are almost outrageous too, leaving little desire to move up anyway.
Advice to Senior Management – Please crawl out of the stone age. It will eventually catch up with the growth of this very small company. Productivity is extremely low as employee incentives to go above and beyond do not exist. Create these incentives, and better new hires will come in.
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
