    I worked at Hawaiian Telcom

    Pros

    Laid back
Benefits are insane... if you're part of the union

    Cons

    Company is going nowhere
    No innovation, everything is outsourced
Employees fool around all day, sucking up resources and providing no value
Managers are arrogant, lazy, paper pushers who will sacrifice their employees for self gain
Young technical employees with talent, drive, and ability to turn the company around are not respected by management
Older employees are resistant to learning and adopting the latest technologies
Career killer, stay away from this company unless you want a cushy job and let all your skills go to rust

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Respect your employees
Innovating is hard, non-technical managers cannot manage technical employees
Flatten out the hierarchical system, there are too many layers of useless management
The majority of managers are incompetent and dragging the company down, fire them
Hire young fresh blood who can innovate, don't keep your lazy old workers who do nothing all day

    Disapproves of CEO
