Pros

Nice building. Yet, if you were a client, you'd think you were paying too much for their furniture as the building is over-the-top. There are a few good people (soldiers) who work there.

Cons

Many of the exec. leaders are looking for "yes men". They are not seeking creative thought/strategy or ideas. It's "do what I say and don't think" mentality. They want soldiers who will take orders. Period. Too bad. The damage being done by the VPs today will have an impact for many years to come.

Show up. Blow smoke. Say Yes. Keep your job. Many poor -to-average Haworth managers are thriving because they do that. They are happy and the VPs are happy. Everyone else isn't.

If you want to be a soldier and be pushed to extremes, worked to the bone, and appreciated very little, go to Haworth. If you want to be creative, grow, develop and contribute in meaningful ways, go elsewhere.

Yes they are international -- but that means very little in the day to day there. Very few travel abroad. Except the VPs and a few chosen few.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Your values are not real to many, many members there. Know that. Your leadership (VP) team is not as good as you may think. Know that, too. When good people leave and keep leaving, when do you start wondering about leadership? I hope you realize it soon.

    Pros

Benefits are standard with other manufacturers within the industry.
    Car allowance, cell phone, lap-top
    401k
Pension after five years of service.
    Good products.

    Cons

Quotas are now being set so high, they are impossible to obtain with the dealers that sell Haworth. A&D representatives are not helpful. Global accounts managers steal accounts from BDMs and management allows it. All of the current dysfunction stems from not having any true leadership.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

When turnover is very high, it effects morale. It would help to have Sales Directors and Sales Vice Presidents that actually have sales experience.

I have been working at Haworth

    Pros

Salary is good, people are great. Overall just a great place to work. Bonus payouts have been really spectacular. Going in the right direction, for management to be more open with the members on the floor.

    Cons

Not enough time for training new temps or hires, not getting all the correct tools to get the job done properly. Not getting enough input from members, when they want to make a change.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Just to keep open and honest to all members about change, and listen to our members and try to use their input, before making changes, instead of saying, just do it, this is the way it's going to be.
