Slow-paced 9 to 5

I worked at Health Net

Pros

It's a steady slow-paced 9 to 5 job. There's never a sense of feeling rushed or overwhelmed. Work load is light and low-stressed.

Cons

I did not get the chance to work on very many interesting projects or very many projects for that matter. When I finished a lot of my projects, there was no more work coming in. A lot of my time was wasted doing nothing which is not good for employee morale.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Have an in-house training program for employees to take on more challenging roles.

    Pros

    It's a job in a bad economy.

    Cons

Abusive management that rules by fear tactics which is tolerated by human resources. Expensive benefits with no choice of medical group.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat associates as valuable assets. The economy won't be bad forever.

I have been working at Health Net

    Pros

    - There is a strong core group wanting to bring efficiency and change to the organization.
      - There are a number of very smart, well qualified and fun employees.
      - There use to be a strong sense that a small group could bring about positive change to a bureaucratic organization.

    Cons

    - Infrastructure outsourcing continues to be challenging.
      - The "many" who are stuck in the way things have always been far outnumber the "few" who attempt mightily to influence positive change.
      - Sr. Management is committed to an ever-growing outsourcing model. However, there is empirical evidence that quality and timeliness suffer greatly in the current model.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    - Make leading people fashionable again.
      - Listen to your people.
      - Right the outsourcing ship before we all go down.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Neutral Outlook
    No opinion of CEO
