Pros

Good company with a nice life work balance. Dogs are encouraged. Get out of work at a decent hour. Socialize with co-workers is encouraged. The company has real intellectual property that can be leveraged -- is being leveraged -- and can make a difference in consumer's lives. The staff is now leaner after a series of layoffs and the head of product -- a nightmare -- is gone. If people can help company focus on a few things then the company can make some money and become a greater force in the business. Oh, the offices are pretty nice and convenient location.

Cons

It is a cult of personality of CEO who thinks he knows EVERYTHING. He's a good guy, but not an operator and mingles in everybody's business, changes forecasts on his own, does not respect any chain of command.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Push CEO to a sales/company spokesman position, hire a real president, and run the business like a business.

    Pros

decent work-life balance, relatively small so nimble and leaves the opportunity to jump in and make changes without the bureaucracy often found in larger corporations, generally folks are nice to work with though don't get too attached as the turnover rate is crazy, snacks in the kitchen.

    Cons

senior management is pretty awful when it comes to innovative and forward thinking, often shoot first, aim second. weak management often giving subpar or inadequate direction. most lower level employees see healthline as a starting point or as a paycheck, creates severe complacency. this company is still stuck in the 90's in terms of innovation although they'll tell you otherwise. pretty sad health benefits for a "health" company, and pay is generally on the lower level of scale per position.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

listen to your employees, many great ideas out there. do a better job of fostering communication. pay just a little more competitively to keep good talent. offer benefits such as outside workshops, classes, etc. to keep your staff motivated in such a dry field (healthspace).

    Pros

At one point, interesting technologies could have been scaled

    Cons

Hubris is the arrogance of the damned.

How out of touch, arrogant, and reality-blind can an organization be? Boundlessly, in this case.

Management is altogether resistant to change, refusing to invest time or money into product. In a landscape dominated by commoditized media, RTB, and many lookalike environments, the HL offering remains stuck in the stone age. Appropriately, this swill offering is priced beyond anything else in the category. Smart.

    Innovation: squashed
    Ambition: discouraged
    Client Relationships: ruined
Delivering Value On Time At A Fair Price: Hahahahahahahah

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Like another review said, just sell to a competitor and get out. Some things are simply broken beyond hope of repair.
