I have been working at Heartland Payment Systems full-time for more than 5 years

Pros

Decent pay, ability to set schedule without interference as long as work is being completed.

Cons

My position is on-call after hours and weekends; overtime is paid but frowned upon if you need to use it frequently. Management has recently made the decision to reimburse expenses monthly instead of weekly as they had done for the past several years, meaning I carry a multi-million dollar company for 5-6 weeks. This, along with growing frustration with changing job requirements and compensation (6 changes in pay structure in as many years) have lead to my decision to leave the company.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat AM's as a valued member of the team instead of servants.

    5. Easily earned benefits in 60 days. Very attainable goals.
    6. Highly recognized name - especially in the restaurant industry.
    7. Atlas is a phenomenal prospecting tool.
    8. Bonus (points) incentives and monthly cash incentives are go
    9. Not an underfunded ISO.
    10. The paychecks are on time

If I had taken the reviews on this page to make a decision- the advice would have been misleading. Tracking for 100k+ first year. Before you call me a newbie and give me the "Kool aid" speech- I have 20+ years in sales and evaluated several ISO's. I will choose a publicly traded company over a slick talking ISO any day.

    Cons

Lack of in house lead resources.

I have been working at Heartland Payment Systems full-time for less than a year

    Pros

You learn all the ins and outs of the card payment industry

    Cons

You bust your butt, you spend your own money on gas, and after you put some accounts on the books they fire you because you didn't make a month's goal. And all those monthly commission amounts you made now go to the company's bottom line. And to add insult to injury they make you sign a non compete agreement. Don't bother with HPS. They'll use you and then abuse you.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Go back to being privately held so you aren't being blackmailed every quarter by the investors.
