I have been working at Heidrick & Struggles

Pros

Compensation is great and opportunity to rise within the firm is endless for those willing to work hard to learn the business.
The people are terrific and extremely willing to help you be successful

Cons

Traditional search is changing- company structures are flattening, information is more widely distributed than ever, and executives are more entrepreneurial with their careers. Heidrick is adapting to the changes but its too soon to tell what its new role will be in the new search environment.

I have been working at Heidrick & Struggles full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Friendly, great brand that still opens doors, great new CEO

    Cons

Very poor training and development, lack of leadership at a practice level, lack of accountability.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

This business is resilient. Despite going through some very difficult times, mostly down to a period of very poor executive leadership, the business does seem to be on the up. Imagine if we listened to our own advice and put structure development programmes for the most talented as well as general training to give everyone the impression the business was watching and aware of your hard work and equally keen to invest in you to make you better. That would be a great place to work. Maybe this might mean our best people would stop leaving.
