I have been working at Heinz full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Nothing is a real pro right now. Even decent volume is being driven by higher trade spending. There are limited things one can say good about HJ Heinz right now

    Cons

The culture is abysmal. The leaders DONOT carea about employees or staff. You are just a robot in their heartless factory. Going to work is depressing and employee are depressed. Nothing is uplifting. The mood in the building is bad. People are overworked and underpaid. The atmosphere is ruthless and the CEOs do not give a care about anyone but themselves. Simply terrible place to work.

I worked at Heinz full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Heinz proudly owns some of the best, longest running global brands. It is a badge of honor to work in Pittsburgh and tell people that you work for Heinz. Sadly, the short-sighted management of these brands is putting Heinz, it's employees and it's legacy in a perilous position. A flood of people have left in 2012 via layoffs, forced retirements or by choice in the wake of the unsettling culture.

    Cons

In the name of short-term profitability, senior management is cutting costs. Enormous, ongoing budget cuts have persisted for at least 12 quarters. Quite terribly, nothing is sacred - neither product quality (huge "cost value" projects have reduced quality by tens of millions) nor long-term employees (90 laid off in March 2012, followed by other small rounds).

Many in senior leadership lack the ability and charisma to lead teams and people - this is especially true of the foodservice division.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Quality and Loyalty are the two elements that gave H.J. Heinz his legacy. Go back to basics - treat the products, the employees and above all the CUSTOMER with respect.

Invest in brands and quality. Make marketing dollars sacred and do not make last-minute cuts to meet a quarterly number. It seems that the CEO and top management (who continue to bank million dollar bonuses) are sacrificing this great 100+ year company for their own personal fortunes.
