Pros

The compensation package is very competetive for the area. In general, the company provides a good working environment and employees are treated well as a general policy. There is no mandatory overtime, but in good economic climates, overtime is plentiful (assuming your salary grade is paid overtime). The company (in it's current incarnation) started with an attitude towards providing top of the line products to our market.

Cons

Although they represent themselves as providing top notch products, attention to detail, product quality and service to customers has declined each year. Training of new employees or those transfering to new positions is almost non existent. People are thrown into thier jobs and expected to pick it up as they go. Ongoing cost cutting measures have compromised product quality. Emphasis on production quotas are ever-increasing, and seem to be the only thing that matters to top management and all the way down the chain. The company has become very "compartmentalized" with little or no cooperation between departments.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Return to the emphasis on using quality materials to manufacture a good product. Truly support and encourage a good training program, not just give it lip service. Productions goals are important, but balance that with healthy scrap, rework and defect PPM goals (in reality, not just pencil whipped). Reevalute the criteria for internal promotions and career oppurtunities for employees who have proven themselves.

    Pros

If you work hard then there are advancement opportunities. They like to promote from within which is great. Benefits are good

    Cons

The bad is that there are "cliques" and favoritism is very noticeable. Besides that there not much bad things to say.

I have been working at Hendrickson International full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Decent sized company where It's hard to get fired. They post most internal job openings. They have a great education assistance program. Claim to have an open door policy. Offer 401k match. Longevity is common.

    Cons

Atmosphere is like high school. The "click" crowd has all the power and the good positions are given to people who are in the click and pre-approved to have them. If your personality does not fit you will not be invited into the click and have an "equal and fair" chance for career advancement. Job assessments and goals are completely useless and the biggest joke of the company. Raises are not based on those assessments as they are supposed to be, but rather determined by how the boss wants to dish out the available raise money. I've personally seen someone with half the score of a co-worker get double the raise. 401k match is not consistent. Open door policy is not enforced. When managers get skipped over on issues they are allowed to put the person in the dog house.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Break up the clicks and give raises based on Merit and job performance instead of how the manager wants to dish it out. Change promotion criteria so that 'hangout' buddies will no longer mean anything.
