I have been working at Hensel Phelps Construction full-time for more than 3 years

Pros

Great benefits and competitive salary. The company is employee owned. They contribute 15% of you salary into a 401k without any contribution from the employee. Once you reach the Project Engineer level you do start to earn S-units and a yearly dividend payout.

Cons

Employees work very long hours. You have to be dedicated and love your job. If you aren't willing to put in the effort you won't experience the benefits.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Great company. Keep up the good work. Great company culture.

I have been working at Hensel Phelps Construction full-time for more than a year

    Pros

I feel like I have become part of a family. People are great! Very down to earth. Lot's of responsibility.

    Cons

HOURS. Expect to work your life away. Expect pressure to put in 12+ hour days 5-6 times a week. Expect jobs in the middle of nowhere. Don't expect a raise of any value until around 4 years of employment. The company is set up as a 4 year "weed-out" of anyone who can't hold their own. Thus low starting salary vs competitors until you reach a Project Engineer level.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need to stress a better work/life balance. Must force people to get out of the office at reasonable times, and recognize when someone's workload is so great that they need help.
