I have been working at Hertz full-time (more than 5 years)

Pros

company car and fuel everything else sucks.

Cons

everything. HR only looks out for the company. Fear Based employment. Company creates a write up file on everyone and then only fire the ones they don't like. Working in chicago gets you promoted. If you don't work in chicago then you suck. bonus checks are on regular checks so you only end up with half. numbers are fixed. no explanations on operating statements

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Just because the numbers look good doesn't mean that your Area Managers are doing their jobs.

I have been working at Hertz part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Exciting work atmosphere, professional team (mostly), customer service experience, possibility for location transfer, good rental car discounts after probationary period, competitive bonus, paid weekly.

    Cons

Company leaves their counter employees high and dry as they book more reservations than they have cars. To be successful you must be pushy and annoy customers with insurance, gas, and upgrade sells. No set or promised breaks. Punishment (in my case) consists of docking your hours from 36 hours per week to 20 hours per week for several months and demotes you from CSR to driver (still wearing shirt, tie and slacks in 95 degree weather)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hertz should never run out of cars for their reservations. This is unacceptable! SRPD tiers should vary by location due to the difference in "traffic" and economy. Hertz corporate office should make UNEXPECTED visits to every location to see what's really going on...
