Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at Hertz full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Good benefits and a potential for commission which varies based on department. On-site cafeteria and other amenities.

Cons

Employees cheat to get commissions by lying to the customers and/or omitting facts. Management does nothing when face with this problem.

Advice to Management

You should take action when you know your employees are acting unethically.

I worked at Hertz full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

You get to drive new cars and the work load is light and at the end of the day I was never stressed out. You also get a paycheck, but it ends up barely paying the bills because they never deliver on incentives like rewards from winning local and regional contests, bonuses from your sales are not paid out correctly if you are lucky enough to get them and they promise you monthly bonuses from the revenue that the store brings in but then never give it to you.

    Cons

Horrible HR Business partners in the West Central Region Office, they give no support to their employees, even when an employee brings to their attention that they are being discriminated against by the employees at bodyshop that they work with because of their gender. Instead of fixing the problem and dealing with the discrimination they will force you to work under those conditions. When you notify them of your concerns they go from sending you letters commending you on your excellent unparalled performance to giving you a letter saying that they are letting you go based on unfounded acusations. Without even paying them the bonuses they earned in the months prior or giving them the prizes they earned from the contests they won.

    Advice to Management

When an employee lets you know that they feel that they are being discriminated against based on their gender and you force them to continue working with them that puts them in a hostile work environment, not only does it send a bad message, which will make you lose current and future employees but it also opens the company up to liability.

I have been working at Hertz full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The pay check has not bounced...yet. One of the few companies that still has a company funded pension plan.

    Cons

The 37.5 hour work week is history, be prepared to work 50 to 60 hours a week, with out overtime. I see the company is now sponsoring a car in NASCAR to feed MF's ego. I would only recommend working here if you were unemployed & your house was about to be forclosed.

    Advice to Management

Upper management has surrounded themselves with yes men. They liked to be stroked. They should listen to the people doing the actual work.
