I worked at Hertz full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Looks good on a resume. Excellent training system. Really well designed business plan from the outside.

    Cons

If they don't want to promote you they will work you to death without cars or enough staff so they can use the complaints to justify firing you. Upper management bullies employees. Extremely sexist. High employee turnover. Many who get ahead are falsifying their numbers, so people who know how to cheat the system advance farther. There is no room to advance if you are honest. Accounts are awarded to "favorite" managers even if the account is outside the territory the way corporate wants it. You better be one of the favorites if you are going to survive working here.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Treat employees as professionals.
