I have been working at Hertz full-time

    Pros

Good co-workers. It's one of the only jobs that will hire you with little experience in this tough economy.

    Cons

Greatly understaffed cannot be emphasized enough. They expect you to clean cars, answer 4 phone lines at once, assist a line of customers, book reservations all at the same time while you're the only one in the office.

You'll make a very low salary for busting your back on a daily basis. They expect you to clean cars in a shirt and tie when it's 100 degrees. Also, expect to work 60+ hours/per week. There is no work-life balance. Expect to work 7-6 on a daily basis.

This is a SALES job. Do not be confused about a trainee program. You will be a rental agent and will be expected to push insurance onto the customers at least 3 times each rental even though they have expressed they do not want it.

You will deal with a lot of customer complaints from people who want refunds because they were mislead.

Expect to be spoon fed lies about promotional opportunities and be strung along.

Do yourself a favor and stay away from this opportunity.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Concentrate more on an employee's overall benefits and what he/she brings to the table instead of solely on sales numbers. I can recall people who are two faced and would be horrible management, but because they were deceiving to customers and had good sales numbers as a result, they were promoted.

    I worked at Hertz full-time

    Pros

There are some great people that work at the company.

    Cons

The onboarding process needs to move into the 21st century. There is no way that people should join the company and not have the proper technilogy to perform their jobs........It should not take 2 weeks to get access to email upoin starting.....

You are basically sitting around with nothing to do once you join because either you dont have a computer or if you do, you don't have access to any of the applications you need.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Invest in the proper technology for employees and not just external customer facing sites. Quit forcing employees to fill out false reviews to increase the scores.....In two words "Be Honest"!!!
