Pros

Job was easy. Great Discount on Cars. Bonuses help out as well.

Cons

Hot and of course you are always outside. At this location you work with lazy people who have been with the company for more than 10 years, and feel as though they are superior to you. When they only make $14.00 an hr and are your equals. Training was horrible. Lack of communication within the departments. They were always mandating people to stay for 4 extra hours. This is due to planes being delayed, or the customer service reps not coming in on a day that to many hotwire, or expedia customers come in. This of course effects the customer service reps bonuses so the reps who make the most on bonuses don't come in on certain days, making others be mandated for 4 extra hours over the 8 hour shift you have already worked. If you work at hertz be prepared for this. Trust me this will happen to you.

Advice to Management

Give employees a chance to grow. Such as promote internal. Which never happens, It is very hard to move up working as a CSR.

    Pros

Hertz was pretty good at promoting from within and elevating their biggest asset, their employees, into higher positions with more responsibility and benefit. The company was progressive in their approach to stay ahead of the competition and be innovative in their space.

    Cons

There is no clear cut, outlined, training and it is a very hands on, learn while you go job. While this can have it's benefits, it also has drawbacks that can ultimately lead to increased turnover. Work life balance is very tough during peak periods.

    Advice to Management

Better focus on training will lead to an improvement in turnover among new hires and positively impact the over turnover for employees within their first year on the job.

    Pros

Different people everyday, uncapped commission, variety of activities in a shift. Chance to become an expert on newer cars, recognition for achievement, flexible hours if at an airport location.

    Cons

The flexible hours can some times being weird, working late because of late flights, customers who argue milage charges/airport fees

    Advice to Management

    Empower local management
