It was a good learning experience for multilayered communication in a large company.

I worked at Hewlett-Packard

Pros

Branding, it gives you credibility for your next job search. It has a lot of continuing education programs for direct hires. You have the ability to work remotely. There are a lot of talented coworkers.

Cons

The office space it compact and cluttered. The company culture does not promote a great deal of personal interaction and may be viewed as slacker behavior to talk to coworkers. There is little training time- you need to jump in and figure things out for yourself.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Offer more opportunities for face-to-face interaction. It promotes a higher level of information exchange. Social media tools does not replace real "water cooler" discussions.

No opinion of CEO

I have been working at Hewlett-Packard

    Pros

Decent benefits, decent pay and autonomy to perform my role independently for the most part. Excellent brand recognition amongst partners

    Cons

MIddle and upper management seem pretty clueless for the most part about how to execute on profitable and innovative strategies

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get a new ceo, board and upper management that understands HP's roots and place in today's marketplace....don't try to overhaul HP to be something it isnt.

    I worked at Hewlett-Packard

    Pros

Get to decide most of the design, good control/empowerment for jobs. Good freedom and open communication with lower management. Good job satisfaction. Got 1 or 2 boss who show appreciation for job done, but I heard the good boss had left.

    Cons

Dying market as I am in printer division. It is all about cutting cost now, innovation is secondary or even lower. CEO without the HP way.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Time to retire.
